”An overwhelming percentage of wine made today refers only to where it wants to be not from where it comes.” – Neal Rosenthal
This Sunday, Rosenthal’s West Coast Regional Manager, Ben Andersen, will be pouring a diverse selection of Rhones from their portfolio, giving us a great overview of the region from Neal’s point of view: 6 wines, 5 producers, 4 appellations…Rosenthal-
The wines range from a humble Cotes du Rhone, to white and red Chateauneuf du Pape, to wines from two Cornas producers. For those of you who have yet to experience Cornas, Rosenthal calls it “one of my favorite wines…a serious red made from the syrah grape” and “wines that have a sort of rough restraint.”
If you’re hungry, we’ll have a selection of terrines by Chef DJ Olsen. Head’s up: DJ, former chef of our beloved LOU, is now the executive chef at soon-to-open Black Cat in Silver Lake. We can’t wait!
